I was thinking...
All the RCTs used the same creepy supports style... A single beam attached by another one to the track piece.
Well, if we will use supports like the ones on Steelworx, how will the game determine wich one will be used?
1)I mean, there are lots of supports...
2)Supports for Loops
3)Supports for Overbanked Curves
4)Supports style "Dual Steel"
5)V Styled supports.
6)And this very same ones, but for Inverted Coasters
I think there was a significative reason for all the RCTs supports be of the same kind, after all...
I don't think how it will be done exactly is yet to be known but there will probably be a mix between the snap to track pieces and the building generator.
Also even if it used a method like RCT3 our supports will actually look like they can support a ride
Another idea I would like to see is the ability to change the auto supports or a ride and a specific support.
Lets say the game makes the ride using all straight supports and then you want to make one a V frame you just click on the support and change the style.
yeah, it is a good idea to change the support style.
I never playied NoLimits before, but i saw in the internet nice supports being used in the coasters.
How do the game select them? or do the players have to choose?
If some1 here plays NL, please post here
I have made coasters in NL. For steel coasters you have to build all the supports your self one by one.
Also since NL imports 3Ds objects some people have don rides in all in custom supports.
Perhaps a prefab library can be created, with information on how to generate certain supports, whether it's the various types of wooden structures, overbanks, hypercoaster hills, etc. At the least, we could have a skeleton system where the use defines where a complex structure will go along, then generates those supports along the defined splines.
Unfortuantely, without any automation, the program would instead have to judge user-built supports based on heights, g-forces, weight of vehicles / # of cars per train, etc and would get messy there. Otherwise, someone could just run a coaster with no supports and simulated construction costs would be thrown off.
Hmm...
Sebar while we do have some highly skilled people on this project I doubt we can create a good system to make a 5 minuet coaster. The words free forum, realistic, and customizable dot mix to goo with the words quick and easy. We don't leave in a perfect world.
