THIS DOESN'T HAVE TO BE IN THE FIRST RELEASE!!! THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WOULD BE USED ELSEWHERE, MAYBE EVEN IN SOME KIND OF EXPERIMENTAL TPB3D COMMUNITY!

The idea is simple: you give it a general idea, maybe by dragging certain objects, giving it a theme, etc., and it generates a kind of blueprint, that's stored in VECTOR format, so that you could then edit it and make it perhaps even better. Then, it is turned into 3D POLYGONAL model/s, which can be placed.

I know, it's probably 'real stupid.

Ummm. I have to agree that this will most like;y never be made. In fact, it sound more like a separate 3D modelling application.
You've just described the BG functionality.

Representation of items as their being sized in the BG hasn't been decided, it will be some form of outline, or it will be the model for the lowest level of detail. The thought being that the lowest level of detail should be simple enough that it will be possible to recreate it quickly enough to allow interactive manipulation.

I think you misunderstood me. I meant that an advanced version wouldn't be made. :) Besides, the BG itself is will be advanced anyway.
Either way, it's a pretty good idea. I suppose the game is going to be comparable to Spore in a way...
that's what i've been sayin Memph!lol
